Breast Cancer Reality Check. We All Need One

Hey there beauties, Happy Monday! As we begin discussing today’s topic, I have a question for all of you. When was your last breast exam? Well this blog post is for you. Today's topic is all about making sure you and your tatas stay healthy.

October is breast cancer awareness month and it’s time to have “the talk.” Breast cancer … it’s a scary thought and all too many women assume that it won’t happen to them. Sadly, every ten minutes a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer in the United States.  So, during the last few weeks of what is the last weeks of breast cancer awareness month, we encourage you to visit your doctor and get a breast exam. It just might save your life.

The latest statistics show that roughly one in eight women develop breast cancer in their lifetime. Cancer doesn't discriminate, the odds are good that nearly everyone is affected by this disease in some way. Whether it’s a personal diagnosis or that of a loved one, finding answers to your questions and a supportive community of people who understand the experience can make all the difference.

Early signs of breast cancer might be a lump in a breast, a painful breast or armpit, or even some discharge from the nipple. It is very possible to still get breast cancer even if none of these symptoms present themselves, but a doctor should be visited to be sure. Your doctor will most likely perform a manual exam and send you for a mammogram. A mammogram examination is painless and only takes about ten minutes.
