Spring Clean Your Daily Routine
Have you been feeling the need to shake up your daily routine? If so, spring is the perfect time to do so! The spring season comes with it a time for renewal, growth, and purification. Celebrate the start of this new season by breathing new life into your daily routine! Below are a few ideas to help inspire you to create your new routine:
Reflect and Set Intentions for Yourself
Spring is the perfect time to reflect on the goals that you set for yourself at the beginning of the year. Take some time to sit down and think about how realistic the goals you set for yourself were and how you’ve progressed with them so far. Do you feel as if they were a little too impractical for your schedule OR are you not feeling properly challenged by them? If so, now’s the time to change them up!
Physically write down what you'd like to change up about your original intentions and why you want to change them up, this will help you to seamlessly create your new intentions. After reflecting on your "what" and "why", physically write down your newly revised intentions. Lastly, it's important to keep your new intentions where you are able to see them every day- this could be in your purse or on a vision board at home. Physically being in contact with your intentions everyday will best help you to stick to them.
Spend Time in Nature
The start of the spring season (usually) comes with it a warmer climate. Take advantage of the change in weather by spending more time outside in spring’s blooming nature. This could be as simple as taking a five minute break outside to stroll in the sun or as elaborate as completing your entire exercise regimen outdoors. Any physical activity spent outside has been proven to lower blood pressure and reduce stress-related hormones. So no matter the amount of time you are able to spend outdoors, what’s important is that you get out there at least once every day.
Log Off and Tune In
Balance is everything, and technology is no exception to that rule. If you struggle with balancing work life and home life, consider creating a strict schedule in accordance with technological use.
Logging off an hour before bed is crucial for your mental and physical health. Studies have shown that using technology less than an hour before bed significantly disrupts the sleep cycle, leaving one prone to a variety of health issues. To best conquer this, set a timer that goes off at your specified hour before bed and stick to logging off by the time that timer goes off- your body and mind will thank you for it!
Focus on Nourishing Yourself
By filling yourself with whole, nutritious foods and water, you are giving your body the care and nutrients it needs and deserves. Nourishing yourself with a healthy, well-balanced diet will benefit you not only physically, but mentally as well. Eating well and drinking an adequate amount of water each day will help to sustain your energy levels throughout the day, build self-esteem, and may help to reduce depression-related symptoms.
