The Feminine Voice is Fierce

The Feminine Voice is Fierce

Hey there beauties! Today's topic is a very important and prominent one, so let's dive right on into it. Unless you've been hiding under a rock recently, you are aware that the national dialogue has become too negative, degrading, and hostile toward women.

Often people in the public sphere, on social media, and in our everyday lives personally attack women with whom they disagree. By objectifying, mocking, dismissing, and degrading our appearances or backgrounds, they seek to de legitimize our qualifications and distract us from ideas.

If you have been a follower of Slick Chicks for any amount of time, you know that we celebrate courageous women. Our belief is that no woman should ever be afraid to share her thoughts and/or views. We also take pride in the fact that we use our given platform to encourage, educate, and uplift everyone, no matter their social status or ability. We push for concrete changes so that all women are treated with dignity and respect.

Our question today is this, if women make up 51 percent of American citizens, then why is it we hold less than one fourth of the seats in the national government? This must change. We want, no demand, a seat at the table! Truth be told, disrespect for female leaders runs deep in American politics, but women like Kamala Harris, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Michelle Obama and many more (within both parties) show it is possible and necessary for women to keep fighting. Our goal should be equality.

Women’s leadership is more than important in today’s world, it’s imperative. We are the opening act toward a more inclusive, equal, and balanced society. Research proves that the presence of women as political leaders means a positive impact on legislative culture, policy, efficiency and civility. We must not be fearful. We must be proud to follow in the footsteps of the roaring feminine voices of change that came before us. We must support the current feminine change makers in power today. More importantly, we must become more active within our government allowing our voices to be heard in every way possible.

No matter your political views, as a woman, your eyes should be fully open to the state of this union and you should know that the only way to achieve real, lasting change is to come together as a unified force. We must stand up, participate, and contribute to the larger debates of our day. The time to act is now!

We believe that our great nation is in desperate need of lady leaders! We ENCOURAGE women to run for office, serve their communities, and most of all stay informed and empowered!

The point of today's blog was not to get to political; we know everyone has their own views. Our goal is just to remind women that the power of your voice is palpable and strong and can make a great difference in society. The best way we can make and see changes happen within our government is if we all go vote. Remember, your opinions matter. Don't be afraid to let your voice be heard and your vote count! Together we will rise!

“There is no limit to what we, as women, can accomplish." - Michelle Obama
